Moderation Policy

Last updated: March 2026

MPReviews uses human moderation to keep the archive useful and lawful. We are a publisher of user-generated content, not the author of reviews. We remove or reject content that violates our Content Policy or the law — including illegal or abusive content — and we approve genuine, compliant experience reports.

1. What moderation is for

Moderation exists to:

  • Block spam, fraud, and coordinated fake reviews.
  • Remove or reject illegal content and serious abuse.
  • Keep submissions tied to real visits and identifiable listings where possible.
  • Apply our rules consistently, without favoring businesses or advertisers.

2. What moderation is not

  • We do not delete or soften reviews simply because a business dislikes them.
  • We do not edit approved review text to change meaning or tone at an operator’s request.
  • We do not treat negative sentiment as a policy violation by itself.

3. Review queue

New reviews typically enter a moderation queue before publication. Reviewers evaluate submissions against our content rules. Timing varies with volume; most decisions are completed within a few days under normal conditions.

4. Removal of illegal or abusive content

We remove content that is unlawful, that sexually exploits minors, that constitutes credible threats or harassment, or that otherwise violates our published standards. We may restrict accounts that repeatedly or egregiously break the rules. Where the law requires action or preservation of information, we comply.

5. Disputes between users and businesses

We do not adjudicate factual disputes between a reviewer and a business. Two good-faith reviews of the same location may disagree. Our role is to enforce platform rules, not to decide civil claims.

6. More detail

For step-by-step explanation of submission, approval, and rejection patterns, see How Reviews Work. For allowed and prohibited subject matter, see Content Policy.
