July 3, 2008 --- Hostage Situation, Standoff Ends Peacefully
PASADENA, Calif. A disturbed man surrendered to police following a hostage situation and standoff in Pasadena.
Keary John Bodley, 38, walked into Sunny Days Spa Massage Facial, 1199 E. Walnut St., between Hill and Lake avenue at about 4:20 p.m. and called police, saying he had a gun, Pasadena police Lt. Thomas Pederson said.
"He said he needed everybody to leave, and they did," Pederson said. "There were four people inside the business and he kept one."
Bodley released the female hostage after about a half hour, Pederson said.
Businesses on either side of the day spa and across the street were evacuated while police tried to make contact with Bodley, Pederson said.
By 5:30 p.m., Bodley peacefully surrendered, and it was still unclear why he called for police, Pederson said.
"The man was definitely disturbed, and we're not sure what his motivation was," Pederson said. "He's being taken in now and will probably be booked for different felonies like kidnapping and false imprisonment."

If you read the reviews, this place is not frequently visited and gives crappy legit massages. I wonder if this guy was an upset monger?
Story says four people inside the business. Were all of them the girls or where there any clients in the middle of their massage? The story didn't say anything about naked guys. The gunman held one of the girls hostage for a half hour. Did he get a massage while he was inside from his hostage? Do you think he got any extras?
Can you imagine how horrible this would be as a client, especially if you managed to get any extras.
Can you imagine the situation getting even worse. Imagine if the gunman burst in and you were busy in CG or RCG and he shot the girl and then left the room. What would you do? Would it be a shriveling experience and you run screaming from the room naked? Or would you be a true monger and finish quickly and then slink out of the room taking all evidence with you :P
Play safe! Hope you never have this kind of bad dream.
